Matthew 6:25–34 〈 Letting Go of Worry and Seeking the Kingdom of God 〉
📖 Matthew 6:25–34 〈 Letting Go of Worry and Seeking the Kingdom of God 〉
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
✨ Jesus Speaks to the Heart of Our Worry
Jesus tells us not to worry about what we will eat or what we will wear.
He is warning us about the moment when worry becomes the master of our hearts and pushes God aside.
Worry is not simply a lack of faith; it is a sign that our trust is directed in the wrong place.
✨ An Invitation to Trust the Creator
When Jesus says, “Look at the birds of the air” and “See the flowers of the field,” he points us to the providence of God the Creator.
The birds do not store away in barns, yet they are fed.
The flowers do not labor, yet they are clothed with great beauty.
God has not entrusted the world to chance. He carefully watches over the lives of his children.
Letting go of worry is an act of faith—placing the responsibility of our lives into God’s hands.
✨ Seek First His Kingdom and His Righteousness
Jesus gives a clear answer: “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.”
This is a change of priorities.
When success and security become the center of our lives, worry grows.
But when God’s kingdom becomes our center, God himself takes responsibility for our needs.
This is faith that trusts in God’s sovereign care.
🙏 Prayer
Faithful God, we lay before you the worries that grip our hearts.
Help us loosen our hold on tomorrow and be content with the grace you give us today.
Turn our eyes toward a life that seeks first your kingdom and your righteousness.
Grant us true peace in Jesus Christ.
🔍 Application
• Name one specific worry that troubles you today and entrust it to God.
• Begin your day by checking your priorities in light of God’s kingdom.
• Instead of trying to reduce tomorrow’s anxiety, practice one concrete act of obedience today.
💡 Meditation Point
Worry does not prepare us for the future; it weakens our faith today.
God knows our needs and never turns away those who seek his kingdom.
Today, trust in his sovereign grace and choose obedience instead of worry.
