📖 Matthew 15:21–28 < Faith That Passed the Lord’s Test >
28 Then Jesus answered, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
✨ Silence That Seemed Like Rejection — A Time That Reveals Faith
In the region of Tyre and Sidon, a Canaanite woman came to Jesus.
“Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
At first, Jesus did not answer a word.
He even said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
On the surface, it appeared to be rejection.
But it was not dismissal—it was a test that would reveal her faith.
She did not withdraw.
“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
She did not claim any qualification.
She clung only to mercy.
This is true faith.
✨ Faith That Clings to Grace
Human beings cannot stand on their own.
But when the Holy Spirit opens our hearts, we cling to Christ.
This woman was an outsider—ethnically and religiously.
Yet she confessed Jesus as “Lord.”
It was not that her circumstances changed.
Her heart was centered on Christ.
The Lord’s silence was not indifference.
It was His hand leading her into deeper faith.
✨ A Message for the Church and Mission
True conversion grows through perseverance.
It requires persistent trust that holds onto the Word.
This woman models the church today:
A heart that clings even to the crumbs of grace.
The Lord calls such faith “great.”
🙏 Prayer
Lord, at times Your answer feels delayed, and Your silence heavy.
Yet we trust that even then You are testing and deepening our faith.
Give us faith that does not insist on our worthiness but clings only to Your mercy.
Pour out Your grace upon our church and our families.
🔍 Application
When answers are delayed, draw closer rather than grow discouraged.
Confess, “I am not worthy,” and cling to grace.
Do not give up interceding for your family and neighbors.
💡 Meditation Point
The Lord’s silence is not rejection—it is a season of strengthening faith.
He never turns away those who cling even to the crumbs of grace.
Stand firm in the trial, and hold fast to Christ to the very end.
