Matthew 22:23–33 < God’s World Revealed Through the Resurrection >

📖 Matthew 22:23–33 < God’s World Revealed Through the Resurrection >

29 Jesus replied,
“You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.”

The Limits of Faith That Denies the Resurrection

The Sadducees claimed that there is no resurrection and came to test Jesus.
They tried to judge the spiritual world through human reason and logic.

However, Jesus pointed out their fundamental problem:
“You do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.”

The starting point of faith is not human thinking but God’s revelation.
Only through God’s Word can we properly understand the spiritual world.

God Is the God of the Living

Jesus quoted from Exodus and explained,
“I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”

God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

This reveals the essence of the kingdom of God.
Our relationship with God does not end with death.

Through the history of creation and redemption, God calls humanity into an eternal relationship with Him.
The resurrection shows the completion of God’s kingdom and the full fruit of the history of redemption.

A New Perspective Through the Faith of Resurrection

Jesus said that the world of resurrection is not the same as the order of this world.
Human experience is too limited to explain eternity.

The center of faith is not human effort but the redemptive work of Christ.
The resurrection reveals Christ’s victory and assures us that our future rests in God’s power.

Living With the Hope of the Resurrection

Faith in the resurrection gives us a new way to see our present lives.
When we know that death and failure are not the end, we can hold on to hope even in despair.

God is still alive and sustaining our lives.
Therefore, Christians live not in fear of the world but in greater trust in the promises of God.

🙏 Prayer

Renew our faith, which has often been focused only on the visible world.
Through the Scriptures, help us understand the hope of the resurrection and trust in the power of God.

As we look to the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
enable us to live today with hope and courage.

🔍 Application

Reflect on whether you are judging the spiritual world by human thinking rather than by God’s Word.

Meditate on how the hope of the resurrection affects your daily life and decisions.

Share the hope of the resurrection and the comfort of the gospel with those who are living in despair.

💡 Meditation Point

The resurrection is the core of the Christian faith.
God is not the God of the dead but of the living.

Therefore, we should live not only by what we see, but by God’s promises and the eternal kingdom.
For those who believe in the risen Lord, the end of life is not despair but the beginning of God’s new work.
