📖 Matthew 24:15–28 < An Age of Great Tribulation: Beware of Deception >
28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.
✨ A Time of Confusion, A Faith That Requires Discernment
Jesus warned that in the last days, deception and chaos will intensify. Especially when “the abomination that causes desolation” appears, truth will be distorted and falsehood will look like truth. People, gripped by fear, will easily be deceived and shaken by claims like, “Here is the Christ.” Our present age is no different. Information is abundant, yet truth is blurred, and emotions and atmosphere often replace truth. But Jesus clearly says, “Do not be deceived.” This is a command essential for the believer’s survival.
✨ Why We Must Stand on the Word Alone
“Sola Scriptura” means that the standard for discerning truth is not human experience or emotion, but the Word of God. Falsehood always comes in a form that looks “similar.” It is not completely wrong, but mixed with truth—making it more dangerous. Therefore, we must be deeply rooted in the Word. Jesus said that His return will not be secret, but as visible as lightning. In other words, the true Christ will appear in a way that everyone can recognize. Thus, messages emphasizing secret revelations, special experiences, or specific locations must be approached with caution.
✨ Why We Do Not Fall Even in Tribulation
This age is filled with fear and anxiety. Yet Scripture gives us a clear hope. Salvation does not depend on our discernment or effort. It is given by “grace alone, through faith alone.” Therefore, true believers may be shaken, but they will not be destroyed. God preserves His chosen people to the end and leads them into truth even in the midst of deception.
🙏 Prayer
God of truth, protect us in this age filled with confusion and deception. Help us stand not on human words or emotions, but on Your Word alone. Grant us a faith that is not shaken by falsehood. Even in tribulation, help us trust in Your sovereignty and hold firmly to the gospel until the end.
🔍 Application
Examine the information and messages you encounter today through the lens of Scripture.
Practice making judgments based on the Bible, not emotions or atmosphere.
Share the gospel quietly but clearly with those around you.
💡 Meditation Point
The last days are marked by increasingly sophisticated deception. Yet God preserves His people through His Word and Spirit. Hold on to truth, not fear. Only those who are in Christ will stand firm to the end.
