📖 Matthew 24:29–35 < Wisdom to Discern the Signs of the Second Coming >
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
✨ A Firm Standard in a Shaking World
Jesus teaches that in the last days, the sun and moon will be darkened, and the order of the world will be shaken.
This reveals that God is sovereign over history.
People fall into fear and confusion, but believers are different.
Because we have a sure standard—the Word of God.
Faith is not based on human emotion, but on divine revelation.
Therefore, especially in the last days, we must stand not on emotions but more deeply on the Word.
✨ The Fig Tree Parable — A Watchful Faith
Jesus says that just as you know summer is near when the fig tree’s branches become tender and leaves appear, you must discern the signs.
However, the key is not “calculating dates,” but “being spiritually awake.”
Thus, end-times faith is not fear, but a faith that lives in the present grounded in the gospel.
✨ Unchanging Word, Unshakable Hope
The world will surely change and pass away.
But the words of Jesus are eternal.
This is the greatest hope of believers.
The end times are not the end of destruction, but the completion of God’s kingdom.
In other words, the end is not fear, but “the promise of fulfillment.”
God has already begun salvation, and He will surely complete it.
Therefore, even in a shaking world, we must not lose heart but live rooted in the Word.
🙏 Prayer
Sovereign God, thank You for sustaining us with Your Word even in times of confusion.
Help us not to fear the signs of the world, but to stand firmly on Your unchanging Word.
Let us hold onto the hope of the end times and live today by faith.
🔍 Application
-
Hold onto God’s Word before anxious news.
-
Do not fear the end times; live faithfully in the present through the gospel.
-
Commit to a Word-centered life in a shaking world.
💡 Meditation Point
The world shakes, but God’s Word does not.
Do not interpret the signs of the end with fear, but as the process of God’s redemption being fulfilled.
Stand on the Word today and live with unshakable faith.
