Matthew 28:1–10 Witnesses of the Resurrection Proclaim the Empty Tomb
📖 Matthew 28:1–10 Witnesses of the Resurrection Proclaim the Empty Tomb
10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
✨ From Fear to Mission
After the Sabbath, when the women came to the tomb, it was already empty. The angel declared, “He is not here; he has risen, just as he said” (Matt 28:6). God shattered the human assumption that death is the end.
We still live under fear and the weight of reality. Yet the resurrection declares that God is still at work today. Just as the women ran with joy, the gospel redirects our lives.
✨ The Resurrection Is Not Just an Event but the Completion of Salvation
The resurrection is the culmination of redemptive history. If the cross bore our sins, the resurrection proves that righteousness has been fully accomplished. This is an objective act of salvation accomplished by God.
Therefore, the resurrection is first not about “what I must do,” but about “what God has already done.”
✨ A Life Called to Be Witnesses
Jesus commands the women, “Go and tell.” Those who have encountered the resurrection cannot remain silent. The gospel is naturally proclaimed through life.
True conversion always leads to transformed living and testimony. The church is a community of people who live out the resurrection. The Holy Spirit applies this resurrection life to us.
🙏 Prayer
Risen Lord, do not let me remain in fear, but lead me to live in the joy of the resurrection. Help me rely not on my works but on your finished salvation. Guide me to live today as a witness of the gospel. Grant me faith to obey your calling without fearing people.
🔍 Application
Do not remain in fear; hold on to the promise of the resurrection.
Rely not on your works, but on Christ’s finished salvation.
Today, share the gospel with one person or testify through your life.
💡 Meditation Point
The resurrection is not just a past event; it is the power that gives life to me today. God has already conquered death. Therefore, live not in fear, but in faith. Remember that you are called as a witness of the resurrection, and build your life on the gospel today.
